I reject, with extreme prejudice, both the right and the left wings of the political spectrum. I hold the inflexible belief that adherence and acceptance of either (i.e. liberalism, conservatism, etc) are due almost entirely to a manifestation of individual psychological anomalies.
Consolidating these personality traits to form the foundation of social order is essential for any political movement.
Where most human beings err, and what nearly every human being misses is one salient fact. We think social, economic, and political problems can be solved by altering external reality to suit our desires. This is the lowest form of thought and ensures not only a ruinous entropy but an apocalyptic acceleration.
Humans are a mass of contradictions. The human mind is a fertile breeding ground for virulent psycho-spiritual diseases that seek to infect not only other minds but also the environment humans occupy. We constantly strive to remake the world in the image of our egos. Nowhere is this phenomenon more obvious than in the realm of politics. Few ever see that the real solution is to change oneself.
Yet, the refinement, enlightenment, and ennoblement of the human mind and spirit are the only processes that can place humanity - as individuals and as an aggregate of communities - into a harmonious position within itself and the universe we are an integral part of.
It's clear, therefore, that the refinement of the mind and spirit must be made the foundation and prime motive of social order. If this is accomplished with reasonable success, humanity’s problems will become easier to solve or even impossible to manifest.
There isn't a single example of a political ideology within the left vs. right political spectrum that can provide this. The left/right political spectrum cannot define this within its conceptual framework. They are all failures.
Well said, Dawoud. The individual is the basic unit of society; the better the individuals the better the society. How to get doped-up, scandalized, ignorant and impoverished individuals to refine and enlighten themselves is a good topic for the next article. Religious institutions might help if they are not ego-driven and corrupt.
