One day, a professional criminal woke up and went to the bank closest to his home. It was his intention to rob the bank. This was not a sudden decision. He had been contemplating it for a while.
The criminal walked into the bank, and without so much as pretending he had a weapon, or even speaking to anyone, climbed over the counter, and started filling his bag with money.
Needless to say, the bank’s security people were on him. They subdued him until the police arrived and arrested him.
He was placed in a holding cell. Later, he was questioned by the police. “Why did you rob the bank without a weapon or announcing your intentions to the people there?
“People?” the criminal said, genuinely surprised.” I didn’t see any people. I could only see the money and the pleasures I could buy with it.”
Are you done laughing? Good. Now, ask yourself how many criminals who are richer, more powerful, and more intelligent than the incompetent bank robber have the same problem.
Take all the time you need.
