Police persecution of artists is actually a good sign.
It means that 1. The art and music that is being created Is as real and effective as life or revolution, and 2. The Oppressive and corrupt system that the police are sworn to protect has become so fragile and vulnerable.
A single person armed only with a musical instrument, pen, or paintbrush poses a real and present danger to their security.
That's only if artists speak up. Most have not a jot to say in this, the most extraordinary time in human history. Send me any art that you have seen that got someone arrested... I am curious to see it.
