There is a constant in history that is not hidden, yet rarely seen. Propaganda always precedes pogrom. The leaders use propaganda to share the mindset, the thought paradigm of the people in order to make their acts of senseless carnage acceptable. It's been the same everywhere; southern post-civil war (not to mention post 9/11) USA, Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Communist China, even as far back as the Romans, Mongols, Spartans, it's all followed this same pattern.
Because most people are incapable of distinguishing what is harmonious from what is not, the individual has no true representation for their will because the leviathan that this system is has merely substituted one form of tyranny for a more insidious kind. Therefore, democracy is the will of a collective that unthinkingly and belligerently subscribes to whatever is prescribed for them by the demagoguery of their elites and those in authority over them.
And people keep believing it. You could use the most logical arguments and evidence that they're being brainwashed, and most will still accept the lies and psychological manipulation. Cognitive dissonance is powerful, and an indispensable tool for statecraft.
Napoleon Bonaparte once bragged to a friend of his that he could convince men to sacrifice their lives in exchange for a piece of ribbon. When the wife of a German general complained to Adolf Hitler that too many young men were dying in the war, he looked at her incredulously and said, "But that's what they are there for."
Do you think YOUR leaders have a different opinion of you?
The power to maintain social order is acquired and maintained by words. Governed populations are indoctrinated to believe that words are real things; to confuse systems of symbols with the tangible universe. This must be accomplished without the populace actually ever understanding the real underlying power that words possess.
However, it is impossible to apply this to all people. Subtle differences in language and meaning will give rise to anomalies in the form of sub-languages. Ruling classes would be terribly irresponsible if they were not aware of this. However, in the end, they are defenseless against it; the sub-language symbol system will inevitably insinuate itself into the ruled populace, and the anomaly will eventually overwhelm the power structure.
Be aware that when ruling classes perceive this happening, they will resort to brutality and oppression to maintain their power in the face of the anomaly. This is an act of irrational desperation, an irrefutable indication of impotence, and inevitable collapse.
Anyone who doesn't perceive how propaganda shapes thought, and by default, public opinion in support of political or corporate policy (which are really identical,), is a chump. Pure and simple.
It is impossible for anyone to be offended by this unless they recognize themselves in the aforementioned descriptions.
