Modern Satanism
It is not well known that modern satanists have a practice called Insight Roles. It is believed to be a quintessential aid towards the development of the "satanic personality."
Within the Inner ONA (Order of the Nine Angles; a modern satanic order popular among the political far right), and the esoteric national socialist group called the Center for Syncretic Studies, it is a well-known and documented practice.
Insight roles involve a full immersion into a role they chose that is far removed from the person's natural inclination. One practicing an insight role may suddenly, with no warning, begin voicing an extremist religious or political ideology that is antithetical to their past persona. They immerse themselves into a very immediate involvement with a role deliberately chosen to be antithetical to the individual's feelings, world view, temperament, and inclination. This is done as a means to achieve the particular kind of "insight" explicated and promulgated by the paradigms of satanic philosophy.
Insight roles are meant to be difficult, dangerous, and antithetical to what one considers to be innate and inherent to themselves. To succeed, they must let go of all of their previous held opinions, beliefs and ideas. The role is an ordeal – and it creates alienation from family, spouses, friends, colleagues, employers, etc. They believe they can only become free, and ready for "adeptship," by losing their past.
The ONA's history showed a notable shift, and observable pattern in the insight roles over various periods. During the 1980s and early 1990s, the ONA recommended criminal or military activities. In the late 1990s and 2000s they were recommending Buddhist monasticism. In recent years this had shifted toward neo-nazism / white supremacy, and "Islamist" extremism.
There is a political agenda within the practice of the insight role. Apart from the personal benefits promulgated by insight roles, the experience has the benefit of undermining the socio-political system of the West and bringing about the instability from which a new order can emerge. All of this is an extension of the original techniques of the nazis: the marriage of esoteric occult philosophy with political, military, and industrial power. The insight role is, essentially, a systemic and massive infiltration contained within an initiatory occult practice.
When the term of the insight role is completed (the ONA recommends a period of nine months), it is not inconceivable that permanent psychological and spiritual damage will result. This damage will, in more cases than not, haunt them for the rest of their lives. Such people often lose and even destroy who and what they truly are - and have nothing harmonious with their inner and outer self, and with Absolute Reality, to replace it with. There is, in fact, no real turning back from what they created. They lose their souls in the process and surrender their will to a satanic power structure.
Beyond this, there is a not-so-subtle insinuation of living a lie. This extreme application of ideas amplifies the ambiguity of satanic antinomianism, making it almost impossible to penetrate the layers of subversion, and counter-dichotomy inherent in their dialectics. If anything is ruinous to one's psychological state and spiritual station, it is the kind of lies and hypocrisy the insight role depends upon for its success.
In the end, it's impossible to trust someone who engages in this practice. There's no way to know who you're talking to.
