Human Nature
The more we develop spiritually in nearness to Allah, the lonelier we become. Or more specifically, the less we are able to relate to the majority of humanity. The changes we experience when the more subtle aspects of reality are exposed to us, the less interesting and useful the "herd" and the "world" becomes to us, and the more incomprehensible we are to them. It's a lonely path; and often times it seems we have little more to guide us than our own spiritual homesickness.
A fundamental transformation / mastery of the nature of human thought is indicated.
Granted, this is easier said than done! And as I write this, comfortable in my chair at home, I realize my words are probably interpreted as mere philosophical impotence and futility. But the age of politics is drawing to a close; the political process is quickly becoming extinct by its own hand. No progress through political ideology has ever brought humanity one micrometer closer to the realization of its potential, destiny, or apotheosis. It has only placed temporary political power in the hands of an oligarchy, which always dissipates, leaving an utterly worthless legacy in its wake.
There can only be one solution: social order based entirely on spiritual principles, government without state, and commerce without usury.
The natural social interaction between humans, yes; this is unavoidable.
However, I’m certain that the degeneration of the political process has not escaped your notice. This is especially evident where political parties are concerned.
I hold the largely inflexible opinion that neither side of the left / right political spectrum ever accomplished anything useful beyond the accurate diagnosis of their rival’s shortcomings. They all inevitably become justifications for the personality disorders of their leadership and supporters, and a catalyst for their psychosis to become the ideological basis for social order.
It became clear to me that unless the spiritual and intellectual station - and basic sanity - of individuals and communities are cultivated, all external attempts to establish social order will only produce a political, cultural, and economic manifestation of human corruption. This, social order based entirely upon spiritual principles becomes a logical escape from the cul-de-sac of left vs. right.
From my humble perspective, I see no other alternative. We have reached a crisis: the whole spiritual / world peace / ecological preservation ideas are no longer idealistic dreams. They’ve become survival tactics.
Some among the left support the ideas of human emancipation, redistribution of resources, care for indigenous communities and the ecosystems, etc. is entirely incidental. I’ve seen some similarly noble ideas espoused by the right. And it all means nothing when the anomaly of politicians seeking power and wealth for its own sake rears its ugly head. Then, human emancipation, etc. becomes a smokescreen for all manner of evils. It’s inevitable. Look at the history of the French Revolution when they were split between their version of left / right, and people were marched off to the guillotine in droves. And in the US, during the civil war, it was the republican / right wing who opposed slavery, and the democrats who supported it. Now, the tables seem to have been turned: but that is incidental.
The far-left produced political organizations such as the Bolsheviks, the Chinese communists, the Communist Party of Kampuchea, etc.
And in modern day US, the left is hailed as the purveyors of all goodness, with the right being called psychotic (and rightly so). Have we forgotten all the military actions of the Obama administration that resulted in countless innocent deaths?
These “left leaning ideas” owe nothing to the left, or the right. They are simply the correct thing to do. For my own part, I see alliance with a political party as a devil’s bargain. Are these better than the right? Left-wing totalitarianism develops from working class movements seeking, to eliminate, not preserve, class distinctions.
Right-wing totalitarianism supports and enforces the private ownership of industrial wealth. But at the core, it’s motivated by the same thing: the application of violence to acquire and sustain political power and wealth.
It is possible that this cycle can be broken by social order based on spiritual principles and led by human beings whose motives are definable entirely by a spiritual paradigm. There are historical precedents for this (e.g.: the Indian emperor Ashoka the Great of the Maurya Dynasty c. 268 to 232 BCE, or the Prophet Muhammad, who established the first Islamic Khaliphite model of government in Medina, Arabia c. 622CE).
Human corruptibility is a factor that will always rise and attempt to gain a foothold. My entire point is to create a structure of social order that reduces the possibility of such people (or at least the potential for these qualities) to thrive; and make a more spiritual and holistic form of social order the only viable possibility.
