Creatures of Eternity
Sometimes I wonder if any of us were meant to live on this world.
The structures and processes of our bodies and minds are ancient. Humans are infinitely old creatures from another realm. Our biological formations are mere projections of this ancient creature. We once enjoyed nearness to Allah and the unity of our existence. Now cloaked with a bio-psychological robe of earthly birth, we are members of a single collective.
We are creatures of eternity. We existed before we came into this world, and we will exist long after we leave it. This is just stopping off point in a long journey. The tragic thing is that we forget what we are where we came from and have to relearn everything from the beginning.
From the perspective of the absolute and Eternal, all of our human successes and failures, pleasures and agonies, and the dreams we devise and sell to ourselves to keep ourselves entertained for a handful of decades must seem pitiful and insignificant.
